The Magazine

Statement of Intent:

Carrier Pigeon is a magazine of illustrated fiction and fine art. By giving full creative control to the writers, fine artists, illustrators, and designers the magazine deconstructs the singularity of each artistic discipline while setting an uncharted standard for their successful merging. Here, contemporary artists from unrestricted demographic range may fully tell stories and exhibit bodies of work in an environment that encourages initiative in direct subject matter, interpretation and presentation. Refusal to compromise the artists' personal visions or cater to current trends sets up a truly collaborative experience based on fully personal work. Our main goal is to provide a magazine that is itself a piece of artwork while also providing an immersive experience to our audience.

About us:

In the past year and a half we've released the entirety of Volume I, and the first issue of Volume II will be available February 23, 2012. Thanks to the support of our contributors, audience and artistic institutions we continue to push the notion that people are smart enough to understand art in the commercial print world that is not packaged for the lowest common denominator.
