Chunwoo Nam
CHUNWOO NAMis an artist, master printer and educator. He received an MFA from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a BFA from the University of Hong-Ik in Korea and studied at Tamarind Institute of Lithography at Albuquerque in the US.
He has received "The Second Prize," the Clemson National Print and Drawing Exhibition, Lee Gallery, Clemson University, Clemson, SC; "Selection Committee's Award," the 2008 Pacific Rim International Print Exhibition, University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand; "Juror's Award" from the 2008 Pacific States Biennial, University of Hawaii at Hilo, US; "Award of Excellence" from the Art at the X, National Juried Competition 2008, Xavier University Art Gallery, Cincinnati; Third Prize from the 5th Novosibirsk International Graphic Biennial 2007, Novosibirsk State Art Museum, Russia; Honorable Mention in the 2nd International Biennial Print and Drawing Exhibition, 2006, Taiwan, R.O.C.; The Best of Show, 27th Annual Paper in Particular National Exhibition, Columbia College, MO, US; and the 2005 Artist's fellowship of New York Foundation for the Arts, New York. He has been selected from the International Print Exhibition Tokyo 2007, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum Ueno, Japan; the 14th Tallinn Print Triennial, 2007, Kumu Art Museum, Estonia; 2006-07 Artist of Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, New York; 2006 artist of New York Print Club presentation, New York; and 2005 Artist in Residence Program of Anchor Graphics, Chicago.
His prints are included in the permanent collections of numerous museums such as Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Ueno, Japan; National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan; Novosibirsk State Art Museum, Russia; Museum of Tama University, Japan; Kennedy Museum of Art, Ohio University, Athens; UB Anderson Gallery, Buffalo; Columbia College, Columbia, MO; The Rochester Print Club, Rochester; and the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, New York.
